General Recommendations for Ferrules1. Insert the hose barb into the hose and measure the O.D. (outside diameter) over the inserted hose barb, then add from .005" up to .025" to that measurement. Use that figure for the I.D (inside diameter) of the ferrule.
2. Measure the O.D. of the hose barb being used and make sure the hole size allows for enough clearance.
3. Measure the barb length and allow for 0.50" to 1.00" extension of the barb's tail beyond the end of the ferrule.
